Tunes & Trails
Tunes and Trails is a twice-monthly meetup of 2-5 year olds and their parents to teach kids important values through song and nature. Each meeting includes a singalong and story time followed by exploratory activities centered around a learning value for the day. The values we will explore this Fall are: generosity, cooperation, perseverance, forgiveness and gratitude. Due to COVID-19, all meet-ups will be outside, kids will interact within their own family unit, and these constraints promise to lead to a very memorable time as we explore Squamish and learn as families, rain or shine! The club is led by Rob & Beth, whose popular virtual storytimes during COVID-19 gave kids something to look forward to when most events in town were cancelled. We hope you’ll join us for a low-stress, fun-filled and family-building time of learning and exploring together.

FAQ's:
Why are you starting this club?
Music and teaching run deep in our veins. As a folk duo, we have loved recording and performing, but also teaching kids in Squamish to love music too! In the throes of COVID-19, we ran a virtual storytime/singalong for kids who were missing all their canceled activities. As things opened up, we moved to live singalongs at Junction Park in downtown Squamish. Now, we want to be more intentional about teaching our daughter and other kids important values in this volatile time. Join us for the journey!
Where will we meet?
Once you sign up, information will be sent prior to each meeting about the location for that Saturday. We'll pick parks and natural spaces around town that will be conducive to the theme of the week.
Will it always be outside? What about bad weather?
We will meet outdoors each time - rain, snow or shine! You will need to come prepared to endure the elements for the 1.5hrs we spend together. As the Swedes say, "There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing." Of course, if things are too gnarly - lightning or blizzard - we'll make alternative plans.
Can I drop off my kids?
No. Tunes & Trails is designed for children and their families. You children need to be accompanied by at least one parent/guardian or other close relative, no exceptions.
Can older/younger children come too?
Yes, as long as they stay with your family. We would like everyone attending to be involved if possible, so an older sibling will likely need to pay to attend so that we can be sure to have materials for them to participate too.
